Victor Zsasz is a DC Comics supervillain, primarily known as an enemy of Batman. A wealthy businessman, Zsasz lost everything to gambling and, after a suicide attempt, had a dark epiphany that life is meaningless.
Driven insane, he became a serial killer who "frees" his victims from their pointless existence. Zsasz marks his own skin with a tally mark for each person he has killed.
The character's first appearance was in *Batman: Shadow of the Bat* #1 in June 1992.
